When will we next be hiring?
We bring in new team members a couple times a year, often in early Fall and early Spring. While many of us have been working at Western Skateland for 5+ years, some of us are high school and college students whose schedules change with the seasons.
We also sometimes need extra help for the Summer, a school break, or a holiday like New Year’s Eve.
If you’ve applied more than 4 months ago, feel free to fill out an application again if you are still available. When something opens up we will contact people who have applied in the last few months.
What are we looking for?
We prefer to hire adults (18+) but have made exceptions for a few individuals ages 15-17.
Ability to roller skate well enough to easily transition from forward to backward skating while talking to a customer is expected for any on-skates role.
Experience working with kids such as school teaching, child care, or summer camp, or experience as a skate guard or lifeguard at a pool is a huge plus. Many of our current staff members have prior or current jobs in these fields.
Experience working in food service is a plus for jobs in the Snack Bar.
First Aid training is always a plus!
Finally and most important we are looking for kind, compassionate, happy people who love people, who enjoy being the life of the party and bring joy to everyone around them.
